Explosions in the Sky

This is my new music discovery - "Explosions in the Sky". I heard a part of "Your Hand in Mine" song in the trailer to the "Le Scaphandre et le Papillon" and absolutely loved it!
It's kind of similar to Sigur Ros and Mogwai (from what i know).

"It's an American instrumental post-rock band from Texas. The band has garnered popularity beyond the post-rock scene for their cinematic, elaborately developed guitar work, narratively styled instrumentals, what they refer to as "cathartic mini-symphonies," and their enthusiastic and emotional live shows." (from the Wiki)

On the russian version of their last.fm page there's a note about the band's name:
"Название коллектива “Explosions In The Sky” родилось в ночь 4 июля 1999 года. Вся Америка праздновала «День Независимости». А четверо музыкантов смотрели на ночное небо, разорванное многочисленными салютам и фейерверками."
Some remarks:
  • The song "Your Hand in Mine" was played during a look back at the 2008 Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony on NBC.
  • "First Breath After Coma" was used in the trailer for the 2005 film Shopgirl
  • The title track from Placebo's Sleeping With Ghosts contains a reference to the band's name. (This is my absolute favorite song of Placebo)
Will try to upload the "Your Hand in Mine" tomorrow :)
